Pacific Creat Trail - Day 133 - Marble Mountain Wilderness

Hikers in front of us stirred up a wasp nest next to the trail. I didn’t stand a chance. three wasps immediately stung me in the meat of my calf. Not pleasant.

My calf swole up a bit immediately but stabilized.

Marble Mountain Wilderness has no shortage of marble.

I think this marble crevasse leads to the upside-down.

We had lunch by Paradise Lake under a marble mountainside.

This commentary on the campsite at Paradise Lake takes the cake 🍰 for funniest FarOut comment yet.

I’m talking a real dump truck” 🤣

The trail beyond Paradise Lake had all sorts of obstacles from overgrown wildflowers to blown down forests.

Wow.

We met Joe from London in a field collecting water from a spring. It’s striking how much the mountains surrounding Seiad Valley, California resemble London, England.

Obstacles on obstacles. We weren’t even swearing at this point.

I propped this rock up on a stump. It was too cool not to share.

The deer in Northern California have no fear of people.

The trail down to Seiad Valley had hundreds and hundreds of blown down tree and other obstacles Easily the worst maintained section of the trail so far.

My legs after 15 miles of navigating obstacles through an ashy burn zone. Rough.

We’re ready for Oregon.
