This iPhone camera is pretty ridiculous. So is this trail. Don’t look down!

These flowers reminded me of the wheels VW put on the Beetle when they re-released it in the 90’s.

Far out, maaaan.

Beautiful, subtle desert colors. Lichens are awesome.

It’s pretty brutal walking above immaculate swimming holes in the desert heat all day.

The desert showing off.

Deep Creek Hot Springs. 💯 place to cool off.

A comment on the FarOut app re: Squirrels at Deep Creek Hot Springs

I’m not looking for trouble, sir.

San Bernardino Sheriff’s chopper ripping up the canyon. Crazy to see a helicopter banking at 45 degrees at eye level!

Six miles down the canyon to Highway 173 and a ride to the Joshua Inn.

The scale of California‘s water infrastructure is pretty mind-blowing.

We stayed (camped out back) at the Joshua Inn - a local dive bar and hiker refuge. I didn‘t pry for details but a number of locals in there wore shirts saying they wanted to fuck Gavin Newsom. The Inland Empire is quite progressive!
