Pacific Crest Trail - Day 59

Pacific Crest Trail - Day 59

Start: Mile 610.1 - Landers Meadow Campground
End: Mile 632.0 - Bird Spring Pass

Kristin wondering where the fuck the trees went.

Pretty sure this is the road where Reese Withersp… err… Cheryl Strayed bailed out of this section.

Looking back at the windmills on the ridge we passed the evening before yesterday.

Water cache! Thank you, you heroes!

View from a nap.

A cholla cactus in bloom! Beautiful! Neon green!

The water cache was where the trail on the hill meets the paved road back there.

Uhh… umm… where did the trees go?!

That’s a lot of KMs!

These orange shoes are too cool.

Enhance!

Enhance!

Enhance!

Evidence of water! 😅

The Jaw fire looks like it’s picking up steam 😕

A Joshua Tree refuge

Zero idea how a school bus wound up down there.

I‘m pretty sure this is an ephedra plant. In bloom it looks like some motion blur in a Guy Ritchie movie.

View from a siesta. Yes we packed out fancy mayonnaise. The caloric density is off the charts.

Egregious selfie content.

Sand. Not the surface you want for a 1500’ evening climb.

Unbelievable evening desert views.

Egregious ussie content

Ridgecrest, CA in the distance. Reese Withersp… err… Cheryl Strayed wound up there from this section somehow.

Chartruese and purple. I’d like to note that the Los Angeles Lakers acquired Luka Doncic for peanuts and were eliminated in the first round.

This is probably the best photo I’ve taken in 650 miles. War of the Worlds vibes.

Sunset from the road to Bird Spring Pass.

We found 20+ tents behind every bit of shelter at Bird Spring Pass and took shelter from the wind behind a boulder under a Joshua Tree for the night. Here’s the view.
