Pacific Crest Trail - Day 129 - Porcupine, Toad, and Deadfall Lakes

Start: Mile 1521.4 - Backcountry campsite
End: Mile 1538.2 - Deadfall Lakes

Interesting that this sign was in kilometers.

Porcupine Lake. We had lunch and pitched the tent for a nap when it started to rain. After a few hours and a break in the rain, we packed up and headed out into what turned into a pretty intense thunderstorm.

Castle Crags back there in the distance through the rain.

Toad Lake

Beautiful rock layers. The wet black layer looked like obsidian, but I’m not sure whether that was just because it was wet.

A fire to the West in the distance. Surely we’ll miss it because the PCT goes north, right? Right?!

A cloud bow Rorschach test.

I took these two photos sticking my phone out of the tent from my sleeping bag.
