Pacific Crest Trail - Day 159 - Warm Springs Reservation

Pacific Crest Trail - Day 159 - Warm Springs Reservation

Start: Mile 2058.1
End: Mile 2085.9

Filtering water for the day from a collection pool at a spring.

The PCT traversed the forests of the Warm Springs Reservation. The trail was immaculate and the forest somehow felt welcoming.

We passed a handful of original diamond Pacific Crest Trail signs.

The new Portland International Airport terminal was built with timber sourced from forests on indigenous lands in the Pacific Northwest like these. PDX is easily the most beautiful airport in America.

What do I do with my hands?!

Timothy Lake was beautiful and popular with locals. They had a bunch of dispersed campsites on the south side of the lake accessible by kayak or by trail which was very cool to see.

Little Crater Lake is a deep pool formed by the erosion from a spring. We arrived at dusk and missed some apparently spectacular colors, but it was still cool to see.

We hiked 4 or so miles up a climb at dusk to the nearest campsite from Little Crater Lake and assembled burritos in the tent wearing our headlamps.

We can feel each passing day getting shorter as we head north and deeper into autumn.
